MPS/UPS
Required for September 2025, an outstanding Assistant Curriculum Leader of Maths who is passionate about education.
George Stephenson High School is an 11-18 Trust School of 1200+ students, 112 of whom are in the Sixth Form. Our school has a really positive ethos, with very strong pastoral and academic guidance and a real emphasis on learning in everything we do. This school is and will always be a fully inclusive school which puts the students at the very centre of all that it does. We want it to be a school that is always a happy, safe and enjoyable place to be. Further to that we want the school to be at the very heart of the local community and to be the school of choice of all who live here. We have a committed, enthusiastic and highly skilled staff team, a supportive governing body and superb students. We genuinely believe the support, care and welfare of our students is second to none and we are a school which puts the students at the very centre of all that it does. We are though not a complacent school. There are many aspects that we can improve further and our challenge is to do this without compromising our existing strengths.
Our Maths department is a motivated and dynamic team with a shared passion for teaching mathematics. We firmly believe that every pupil has the potential to be a mathematician, and we are committed to nurturing that belief through high-quality teaching and learning. Collaboration is at the heart of our department, with regular time dedicated to professional development and innovative teaching strategies.
Following a recent restructure, we welcomed a new Curriculum Leader, bringing fresh vision and leadership. As a hardworking and supportive team, we continuously strive to be the best we can be—both for our students and the wider community. We are now looking for like-minded individuals to join us on this exciting journey and help us deliver outstanding maths education.
If you have passion and energy to inspire and motivate students and staff; a proven track record of success in raising standards; exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to teamwork then we would love to hear from you.
